Who We Are
A statewide community of healthcare professionals, technologists, academics, and policymakers working to bring practical AI to healthcare in Connecticut.
A Statewide Initiative
The CT Health AI Collaborative is a statewide initiative helping small and mid-sized healthcare organizations explore and implement generative AI. We bring together healthcare professionals, AI experts, policymakers, and visionaries from around the state of Connecticut to develop applications that enhance diagnostics, improve patient care, optimize medical processes, and reduce costs.
Through learning sessions, prompt-a-thons, working groups, student projects, and research collaborations, the Collaborative gives Connecticut's healthcare community a shared place to learn what works, avoid what does not, and adopt AI responsibly.
What We Believe
- AI should amplify human care, not replace it. Clinical judgment and the human relationship remain at the center of healthcare.
- Practical beats theoretical. We focus on uses of AI that are ethical, achievable, and immediately useful to working professionals.
- Vendor-neutral by design. The Collaborative does not sell software. Members evaluate tools on their merits.
- Aligned with recognized standards. Our work is informed by established guidance on AI in health, including frameworks from the WHO and NIST.
Global Engagement
Our team recently helped establish an AI Center of Excellence in Uganda, in collaboration with the Makerere University Infectious Diseases Institute in Kampala. The initiative, aligned with WHO guidance, delivers AI-driven diagnostics, training, and public health support to frontline clinics and community health workers.
That experience shapes how we work at home: impactful AI does not require massive infrastructure. It requires clear use cases, practical training, and collaborative communities.
